A very large appartment in the small village of Ruden in southern Austria. All the rooms are linked by a large entrance hall with a traditional sitzecke. Wood-lined throughout, the bedrooms are all generously sized and within easy earshot of the river. The bathroom has a bath, which parents of small children will welcome. The living room accesses the patio and (also large!) garden directly. 200m from a kids play area and restaurant and a little further over the river to the small centre. Close to the Petzen mountain and southern lake district - a super appartment for a relaxing holiday

A second floor appartment with its own entrance and south facing balcony, 4km on the other side of the valley to the Petzen mountain gondola lift, 6km from the Slovenian border. With 2 bedrooms, this can sleep 5 comfortably, and a 6th person on the sofa in the kitchen. The facilities are superb all year - there are 2 billiard tables, 2 table tennis tables, 2 table football tables, a computer for internet access and a self-service coffee bar with beer tap - all indoors. Outside there is an extensive play area, including swings, trampoline, mini-golf, a petting zoo and a swimming pond. With 2 other appartments in the house, this is a super-friendly place for a family holiday!

Erich

A totally renovated (2010) ground floor appartment with private entrance not far from the foot of the Petzen and the charming town centre of Bleiburg. A corridor joins the living kitchen diner at one end to the bathroom at the far end. The two bedrooms are in the middle. All of it brand new, of course, and the kitchen is fully equipped. The garden behind the house is enormous, with BBQ, table tennis, and if you wish, 3 bikes for (very cheap) hire. The centre of the town is a 15 minute walk, famous as the home of artist Werner Berg, and the Petzen mountain lift, Pirkdorfersee lake and slovenian border are all a 5-10 minute drive.
