Stöflin

Situated on the outskirts of the village on the Turracher Hohe (1763 m), lies the smallscale park with wooden chalets. The detached chalet, for sole occupancy, covers the ground floor and the 1st floor. The accommodation is modern, of a good standard and has a wooden decor. Terrace and a balcony. Details: Until mid May the Lifts and most of the restaurants in the village are closed. The sauna and the swimmingpool are just opened from July until September.

Sonnleitn

Set up in the fresh air in the heart of the Nockberg mountains which divide Styria and Carinthia, and about a mile from the resort centre of Turracher Höhe. Up at 1300m your sleep is guaranteed even in mid summer. On one side of the pass you find the wild green mountain panoramas of rural Styria, whilst on the Carinthian side there is the fun and the heat of Austria's southern lake district. The chalet is two-bedroomed, with fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. There is access onsite to a sauna area and a popular restaurant.

Almhuttendorf Turrach

Great choice for an active family or group. Situated a mile from the resort centre of the Turracher Höhe in the Nockberg massif, which forms the natural border between Styria and Carinthia. Up to 14 can be accomodated with ease in the 7 bedrooms, and after a hard day in the mountains, stiff limbs can relax in the sauna downstairs. On site there is a choice of 2 popular restaurants On the Styrian side of the pass there are wild green mountains to explore, whilst those looking for heat and relaxation can head down to the carinthian lakes. At Turrach itself there is an attractive lake, and the phenomenally popular Nocky Flitzer - half toboggan run, half rollercoaster.

Haus Janschitz

A charming private chalet, located on a woodland cul-de-sac, about 1km from the resort centre of the Turracher Höhe. As the house is built into the hillside, both floors are effectively the ground floor. As you enter, there is a bathroom and kitchen diner / living room, and stairs down to the two bedrooms at garden level. The furnishings have a strong 1970s flavour, but with a microwave, and oven and Sat TV, modern requirements are also catered for. The shaded private garden has a BBQ and wooden furniture and is reached via a wooden staircase down the side of the house. Walking routes start at the back of the house.

Blumenhaus

Wonderful atmospheric 350 year-old larch house, 2.5km from the lifts at the Turracher Höhe. Originally accomodation for wretched miners in the adjacent iron mine (worth a visit in Summer), the first floor has been renovated to produce a very spacious, modern 3 bedroomed appartment. You can heat electrically at additional cost, or use the 2 (more than adequate) wood burners for free. The kitchen has an old wood stove too, giving a fabulous warm atmosphere. There is access to the flowered picture postcard balcony in summer, but there is so much space around the house, you probably won't use it. Just the owners granny lives downstairs, so you have the house almost to yourselves. Fabulous.

Chalet 301

A deceptively roomy chalet on the edge of a small cluster of chalets near resort centre of the Turracher Höhe. Its position gives it the best views of any chalet on the development, and a private patio where you can properly enjoy them. In winter and in Summer high season there is free access to the neighbouring wellness and pool complex. The chalet itself can sleep 7 people in comfort with radio, closed fireplace, and pine furnishings. Up the stairs, the first bedroom is open, but the owners plan to close this off for the winter. 400m to the first ski lift and a little more to the lake on the pass. Very nice.

Chalet Almblick
