Ortner

Haus Ortner (98m2) is situated only 300m from the ski-lift, which will take you to one of Austria's most beautiful ski-areas "Dachstein-West". The host and hostess are very welcoming and will be happy to tell you about the curiosities and excursions the region has to offer. The house is very well-suited to spend a vacation with family or friends. There are 3 bedrooms that each have their own washing facilities. Haus Ortner is located in the centre of Russbach. In summer, a part of the garden and a BBQ are at your disposition. The house is equipped with a bio-sauna (infrared cabin). From the house, the view over the animated town of Russbach is lovely. Russbach is known as the valley of fossiles. You will see several fossiles here, such as snail's shells, shells and corals that are over 100 million years of age. In summer, you can jump right onto beautiful mountainbike route, which leads you through the mountains. For hikers, many signed walking trails explore the surroundings. Here, it's also possible to hike from mountain cabin to mountain cabin. The fresh mountain air will make the experience even more intense. In summer, you can swim in more than 20 mountain lakes around Russbach with a temperature of 26 degrees. Other places that are worth a visit: Bad Ischl(25 km), Hallstatt, the region Salzkammergut(25 km) and Salzburg(60 km). The ski-region Dachstein-West is one of Austria's largest ski-areas, where snow is guaranteed. The area is equipped with 35 lifts, 70km of slopes connecting the 3 valleys Russbach, Gosau and Annaberg. The ski-shuttle stops in front of your door and take you to the valley-resort. There you will find ski-schools, ski-rental, child care and several sports utility shops. A vacation in Russbach is a true adventure, both in summer and in winter!

Wevels

A newly converted house (the old police station in fact) in the wonderfully relaxed village of Russbach, where you will probably know everyone by the end of your holiday. It has great facilities - the fabulous new outdoor pool and unique canoeing pond have added focus to the village summer to complement the gondola lift that runs 3 days weekly, and the old village centre. Recently renovated on the 2 floors above the dutch owner's own holiday appartment, its 5 bedrooms sleep up to 10 people in comfort. Masses to see in the area - UNESCO protected lakeside Halstatt, with its macabre ossuary and salt mine is an absolute must. 10 minutes further on is the lift to the Dachstein caves - one full of ice, the other full of stalagmites. Picturesque Lake Gosau, the spa and casino town of Bad Ischl, Lake Wolfgang, Salzburg are all easily accessible. A wonderful area.

Hornspitz

The attractive, quiet village of Russbach is in the middle of the Dachstein Mountains. The expansive Dachstein-West ski-area's lifts are, at 150 metres, a stones throw away from the apartment. The children's ski-school, après ski and restaurants are within easy walking distance. All this makes the area very popular with holiday makers. The apartment is well-furnished and has two bedrooms. It is on the ground floor and has a private entrance. Russbach has superb summer facilities. There is a splendid, new outdoor swimming pool and a wonderful canoe pond. These facilities are an excellent addition to the gondola which operates three days per week. Russbach's charming old village centre is well worth a visit and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. A visit to the village of Hallstatt, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is an absolute must. The lift to the famous Dachstein Grottoes is ten minutes away. Picturesque Lake Gosau, the spa town of Bad Ischl, Lake Wolfgang and the historic city of Salzburg are all easy to reach. This is a truly spectacular area and well worth exploring. These facilities are an excellent addition to the gondola which operates three days per week.
