This beautiful former Carmelite monastery has been completely renovated into a holiday residence for large groups. The old elements, such as the cross on the roof, the barrel vault in the house and a beautiful spacious dining room in the old prayer room, make this a unique holiday home. You will have a wonderful time here with friends and family. The interior has been furnished with the utmost care and is very spacious. Children can play hide and seek, or expend their energy in the courtyard. Nearly all of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, providing much privacy. The monastery order was created by the hermits on the island of Carmel in Israel. The isolation, silence and prayer were unique to the order. The order was spread out all over Europe. Now there are still five Carmelite monasteries in Belgium and fifty monks. In Zepperen there are only 5 monks left who have moved to another monastery. The monastery was then bought up and restored. The most beautiful room in the monastery has a view of the garden, the blossoms, the apple orchards and the church towers in the background. The monastery exudes rural peace and quiet, which are also part of the code of conduct of the monks. Zepperen in located in the borough of St. Truiden. St. Truiden is also the capital town of Haspengouw and has many beautiful sights. Walk, cycle or tour along the largest monument town in Limburg, the fruitiest town in Flanders. Go shopping around the market square or visit castles in Haspengouw. In the spring, all of the fruit trees are in bloom and its a wonderful sight. From April to October, Haspengouw is predominated by fruit. Be surprised by this beautiful region and get out in it with family and friends.
