The rural village Boijl is surrounded by Friesian fields and Drent forests and is located on the edge of the National Park Drents-Friese Wold. A beautiful walking and cycling area with an alternating landscape of forests, fields and moors. Other nature areas in the region and well worth a visit are eg. Fochteloërveen, De Dwingelose marsh and the Schaopedobbe. Pay also a visit to the surrounding Friesian and Drent villages like Diever, Borger, Appelscha and Vledder. In the nearby sauna-, beauty- and wellness centre you can relax heavenly in a woody environment. In Noordwolde (6km) you will find various shops, a restaurant and a supermarket.
