The Sheep Fold Mergelland in Epen is a favourite spot, and the Schaapskooi home is located between Epen and Slenaken. Hoeve A Gen Water

These two holiday homes with free views on the Gulp valley are located in the village of Slenaken, South Limburg. The apartments were built in the former cow stable whilst preserving various authentic details. The Hoeve is a National heritage monument and dates from 1741. The decoration of the holiday homes is cosy and comfortable. The Gulp river flows along the field of the holiday homes. From here you will enjoy beautiful panoramic views to Teuven in Belgium. Slenaken is a small village in the municipality Gulpen-Wittem in the south of Limburg, near the Belgian border. The region is often called the Garden of the Hilly land. Rolling hills, babbling brooks, green pastures and pretty half-timbered houses. The village is located in a valley where the Gulp flows. There are various walking paths which lead you through the beautiful hilly land. And after all that effort you can enjoy a Limburg beer in one of the cosy pubs of Slenaken. Slenaken is also a perfect base to go discovering the region. Typical Maastricht is 20km away and cosy Valkenburg 14km . The Belgian Voerstreek is also nearby and definitely worth a visit.

A gen Dijck

This lovely half-timbered house is on the edge of the town of Mechelen, in the Geuldal. The Geul is the natural border of the garden area, from which you will have a splendid view of the meadows, hills and forests. A gen Dijck (the name of the house, on the dike) is originally from the 17th century (1670) but has been fully restored, so that the luxury of our modern time perfectly merges with the authenticity which this building radiates. This characteristic half-timbered house is a protected historical site, and it has been nostalgically and comfortably decorated for a maximum of 16 people. Mechelen is a perfect home base for short or long hiking trips in the hilly Limburg landscape. Maastricht is great for a day trip or for several! Valkenburg, Thermae 2000 and the German city of Aachen are also easily accessible. And of course there is also Vaals, with the point where the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet, which appeals to the imagination of many. In Mechelen and the area are also: swimming pool, playground, tennis court, riding school, fish ponds, climbing wall and countless cafés and restaurants.
