Typicly Frysian house in the old villagecentre of Hijum. This is a very peacefull spot. The island of Ameland is at 13km, so you could make a visit and go to the beach. Leeuwarden is at 10km. At 2km is the naturereserve (outside the dykes) the 'Noorderleech'; here you could go for a brisk walk and discover different species of animals.
