Het Poorthuis
This charming former gatekeepers dwelling is only 5 km from the centre of Maastricht. The Poorthuis is located at the entrance to the Castle Vaeshartelt estate, in a 10 hectare park with ponds and centuries old trees. At the beginning of 1900, the home was replaced by the current gatehouse. The comfortably furnished house has a walled terrace and offers a view of the meadows where cows graze in the summer. During you stay, you can use all of the castle facilities, such as the restaurant and café, for a lovely breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is bread roll service in the Poorthuis, and you can also order picnic baskets and hire bicycles. During a stay in the Poorthuis, you cant miss a visit to the cultural and culinary city of Maastricht. Discover the Limburg hills on foot or by bike, and enjoy the peace and quiet of Burgundian hospitality.
