Simplon village is located at an elevation of 1475 metres, and is a small village located at one end of the Simplon Pass on the way to Italy in the direction of Domodossola. The restaurants here serve Swiss Wallis cuisine, with other dishes than found in Ossola. Simplon village has its own cooperative dairy which has produced the best Raclette cheese in Switzerland since 1881. In the summer there are glorious mountain hikes to be undertaken, and in the winter there is ski touring. Simplon is accessible from the historic city of Brig in Wallis, approx. 30 minutes away by car. Haus Gerold is located on the ground floor of a spacious holiday home and is furnished with care.
