Porthamel Mill

Porthamel Mill Cottage is reached across a garden path. The cottage is all on one level and is attached to the owners? home, the main Mill House. The original Mill dates back to the 18th century and is situated about half a mile from the road along a farm track in an idyllic location with a lovely very large wilderness garden with paths mown through the grass and woodland to private sitting or picnic areas. There are views across the surrounding woodland garden and fields. Remark: The access road to the Mill is via a long track and this can be muddy in the winter ? so Wellington boots are advisable for opening the field gates in the winter and wet weather.

Winnies Hayloft

Winnies Hayloft sits on the brow of the hill in Bwlch on the road between Brecon and Crickhowell.There are large sky-lights with lovely views across the valley to Llangynidr Mountain and down towards Crickhowell. There is an excellent circular walk starting from Bwlch around Llangorse Lake, the largest lake in South Wales. The River Usk and the canal in Llangynidr village are about 1 mile away.

Pen y fan Loft

A delightful studio loft ideal for two people or for a single person who want to walk straight onto the central Brecon Beacons and to be close to Brecon. Pen-y-Fan Loft is accessed through a large carport and up a flight of wooden stairs to the front door. The room is attractive and spacious with a galley kitchen with a four ring electric cooker, with oven, microwave, fridge, toaster etc. A comfortable sofa and a chair and a double bed with very attractive patchwork bed cover, cream carpets and wooden floor boards; the wooden A-Frame beams have been exposed giving a feeling of height to the room. If required there is an extra put-u-up bed for people not wishing to share a double bed. TV with DVD and CD player. The exposed roof beams make this an attractive studio in which to stay with long narrow windows looking out towards Pen-y-Fan and the mountains. The bathroom has a bath with a hand held shower, handbasin and toilet. The garage below provides dry and safe storage for any outdoor activities like mountain bikes or canoes.

Dafydds

Dafydds Cottage is set on the gentle sloping hills of the Eppynt and yet only 6 miles from Brecon. The cottage has wonderful views down the valley towards Brecon and is a perfect location for keen Coarse Fishermen with a private well stocked lake (Perch, Tench, Rudd, Roach, Carp (Mirrors, Crucean and Common) some up to 10lbs. The fishing is barbless only i.e. Catch and Return). For visitors wishing to bring their own horses, there are miles of superb riding along the Radnor Ride, straight from the door ? with purpose built new stabling and grazing, or for visitors keen on Vintage Cars. The Owners are very helpful and are happy to discuss the fishing and the riding with visitors.

Cerrig

Cerrig Cottage is ideally suited to two people wishing to have a very convenient and quiet base close to Brecon ? 1 mile by road or a nice walk over two fields and then along The Groves beside the River Honddu. On the other side of the lane is a track that leads up to Pen-y-Crug, an impressive iron age hill fort. Brecon one mile.

Cui Hen Beudy

Cui Hen Beudy is situated in a very sunny sheltered position and is just across the meadow to the ever popular Cui Cottage. One of the cottages is a newly converted cow barn - all on one level with WHEELCHAIR ACCESS; bathroom with powershower and a ramp for wheelchairs into the barn. Both cottages can be booked together for a larger party. Well equipped and surrounded by farmland approx mile from Talybont-on-Usk Village, the road passing the barn leads directly up onto the mountains and Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls and Talybont Reservoir. There is salmon and trout fishing on 1 mile single bank stretch of the River Usk (suitable for 2 rods). Availability and cost to be discussed with the owner in advance (ideal for the keen fisherman). The owners keep unusual breeds of ducks and poultry which roam all around and whenever possible supplies free range eggs (not available during the winter). Some logs are provided on arrival. The yard in front of the barn is used by the family daily when feeding the hens and horses. They may be moving horses or garden machinery or making apple juice and cider next door in the autumn.

Min Y Llyn

Min-y-Llyn is a pretty, stone-fronted, newly built cottage situated in the heart of Llangorse. The house has been superbly built by local craftsmen, paying great attention to good workmanship and using local materials. It is within walking distance of the village shop and pubs. Central village location down a private drive. Ten minutes walk from Llangorse Lake - largest natural lake in South Wales. Ideal location for families and those interested in outdoor activities. Fishing, sailing, canoeing, pony trekking and much more is all available locally. Bird hide on the edge of the lake, Crannog Centre at Llangorse Lake with historical and nature history of the area. Superb views and walks from Mynydd Llangorse to Bwlch - Black Mountains. Brecon 6 miles and Crickhowell 11 miles.

Priory Hill

This delightful cottage pre-dates the main house, which was built in 1750 so it is presumed the cottage dates from the 1600s. It is situated close to the Cathedral and is set within the grounds of Priory Hill House with its high walled garden, giving privacy and quiet, there are views over to The Beacons. The cottage has been furnished and decorated with great attention to details, with exposed beams, subtle colours and added to that the owners of the cottage give a very warm welcome with a generous tray of Welsh Foods and a bottle of wine. The cottage is within a few minutes walk of all the amenities Brecon has to offer.

Talybryn Lodge

This easily accessible, delightful Victorian Cottage is with views over looking the Talybont Valley, River Usk and the Mountains. Approximately one mile from Talybont Village with its 4 village pubs and shop; a mile from Bwlch with a shop and post office and village pub. Behind the cottage there are lovely walks up on the The Allt and then on over to Llangorse Lake and Mynydd Llangorse. An excellent Pony Trekking Centre and Climbing Wall nearby. Brecon 8 miles. Comments: the motorway A40 is situated near to the house.

Beacons Edge

Beacons Edge is a very comfortable cottage in the south of Wales. The view over the Black Mountains is splendid. The cottage is located between the places Brecon and Books. Via you can fish, canoe, golf and mountain climb. The owner lives within approx. 200m from your cottage. Three Cocks is the shop, which is close in the neighbourhood. Three Cocks is located within approx. 1km from your cottage. The places Bronllys and Talgarth have its own shops and pubs Hay-on-Wye is located within 8km and Brecon within 15km.

Llanilid Un

Llanilid is a house with all the charm of an 18th century property, equipped with all the comforts of this day and age. Behind your house,is an old farm, which is still in operation. The farmer and his wife are very friendly and odnt mind providing a few fresh eggs. The fields of the farm are open for everyone interested in hiking and cycling. The surrounding is remote, so that you can hike at your own pace, without being disturbed. The name Llanilid means: The land which belongs to the St.Llid. Close by is Trecastle. In this hamlet is a restaurant. The first bigger towns are within 20 km in the name of Brecon and Llandovery. The truly big cities are Swansea and Cardiff located within 50 minutes drive.

The Briars

This stone cottage was built in 2002. The design, craftsmanship and finish to the cottage are of a very high quality with light oak windows, staircase and doors. It is painted, carpeted and well furnished throughout in very tasteful colours giving it a spacious, light, warm and airy feeling. The village pub and Brecon and Monmouth Canal are a short walk away. Excellent location for walks along the pretty canal or for more strenuous walks up the hills to the Brecon Beacons.

Darnley

Darnley Cottage is a traditional early 18th Century old stone cottage, warm and comfortable with very nice pieces of furniture, it is situated in the small hamlet of Pencelli. There is an attractive and secure enclosed garden with flower beds, lawn, patio and a gate leading out to the car parking area. A lockable shed for safe storage of mountain bikes is available on request. The Brecon and Monmouthshire canal is just a minutes walk away and across the road is the friendly Royal Oak village pub serving good food and real ales. This is an ideal base for being in the centre of the National Park, close to Brecon and with easy walking access straight onto the foot hills of the Beacons.

Fernlea

Fernlea is a delightfully situated cottage on the mountain road in the small hamlet of Aber. A green way passes the side of the cottage and leads to a little stream and a ford with access to the forest on the other side. The cottage is just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Talybont reservoir. The waterfalls are also just a 5 minute drive up the road. This is an ideal location for keen walkers with direct access straight up onto the Brecon Beacons and the Taff Trail. Talybont village 1 mile.

Goose

Goose Cottage is situated on a small private estate with the meandering River Senni enclosing the grounds on three sides; visitors are welcome to fish or swim in the river where there is a wealth of wild life with Red Kite and Buzzards overhead and otters and brown trout in the river and sheep grazing peacefully in the meadows. Within a mile of the villages of Sennybridge and Defynnog with the pleasant pubs and restaurants and weekly cattle market.

Lavender

Lavender and Heartsease are two of a small cluster of cottages at Cornwall Farm and have been renovated to become two really superb cottages. The location of the cottages is very peaceful and an ideal place to walk straight up the bridle path onto the Brecon Beacons passing the cottages. The panoramic views from the cottage over the Usk Valley to the Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains are far reaching and magnificent. Pencelli is less than a mile down the lane with the popular village pub The Royal Oak serving food and Brecon 4 miles.

Llanilid Dau Rye Barn

Berth Fewd Farm

Berth Fedw Cottage and Farmhouse where the owners live, dates back to the 1700s. Much of the character has been retained with the oak beams, sloping floors and steep old stone stairs but the cottage is warm and comfortable and situated in a superb remote location just off the Rhos Fach Common below the Black Mountains at Talgarth. The owners who have several horses are happy for visitors to bring their own horses if they wish as the cottage is ideally situated on The Three Rivers Ride. This small farm is approximately 25 acres with sheep and horses but is set in miles of glorious wild open countryside. The farm and location feels very remote but Talgarth is 2 miles with its small supermarket, local shops, tourist information centre and several local pubs.

Pentwyn Farmhouse

Pentwyn dates from the early 1600's and has been well restored to very high standard, making this a warm, comfortable and fascinating place to stay. The house is one of three dwellings approached through a private wood, and up a fairly steep lane trough the remote Yscir Fechan valley on the edges of The Mynydd Eppynt. There are amazing views from the cottage over the surrounding countryside. Guests are welcome to explore the 500 acres of scenic countryside that surrounds the property. The owners have developped three coarse fishing ponds which are a haven for wildlife, set amongst an idyllic backdrop of rolling fields and quiet leafy valleys. Brecon is 10 miles away and Builth Wells 8 miles.
