If you tire of the magic of Hastings Old Town - Historic Rye, the wonderful sandy beaches at Camber and picturesque Winchelsea are all in easy reach.

The Piece of Cheese

Experience a real "slice" of history in this unique 3 cornered cottage - reputed to be the only one in England and the second smallest! Built for a £5 bet in 1871 - this fascinating little house has many original period features, oozes charm and its location in the medieval fishing village of Old Hastings gives access to a wonderful range of restaurants, pubs, theatres, cinema and much more. Remark: Visitors parking permit can be purchased from the owner or the tourist office on the seafront.

Lower Coastguard Cot

The park consists of over 650 acres in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty including ancient woodland and grassland with dramatic coastline and cliffs spanning 7 miles. One of the original coastguard cottages, the house has been lovingly renovated and with its high ceilings is spacious, characterful and with all the facilities you would expect - plus a bath with amazing views to Dover and beyond! There are floor to ceiling Velux windows, in the bedroom on the second floor, for amazing views to Dover and beyond whilst relaxing in the bath! The back window has stunning views to Beachy Head too.

Brackledown

Situated on an attractive quiet residential road near East Hill - this immaculately presented totally self-contained wing of a grand Victorian house offers extremely comfortable family accommodation. With it's wonderful high ceilings the house feels spacious and light. Only 10 minutes walk from the beach - or take the longer option and enjoy the spectacular views from the East Hill paths. The house is also minutes from the historic Old Town, a short drive to medieval Rye and the Hastings Country Park at nearby Fairlight - there really is something to keep everyone happy. Remark: Due to the steepness of the stairs this property is not entirely suitable for toddlers or those with restricted mobility.

Marsham Oast Fairlight

A superbly converted detached Oast House in a wonderful peaceful and rural location surrounded by National Trust properties, in a part of the area known as 'The Firehills' which forms part of the Hastings Country park. With 500 acres of cliff walks, unspoiled wooded countryside and magnificent coastal views this part of the world is ideal for bird watchers or just enjoying the beach. The Oast House is located within the grounds of the owners' ancient and beautifully restored farmhouse dating from the 1400s with later additions. There are glorious views from the upper windows over the surrounding grounds and valley with clear views of the sea in two locations plus many footpaths leading from the property across the valley to the cliffs and beach.
