An enchanting, Grade II listed period cottage circa 1400 with later additions in the 18th Century, hidden away in the oldest and most atmospheric part of Rye. Once, the surrounding houses were taverns for incoming mariners, now they are exquisite character homes. The cottage is tucked away in a secret corner off the ancient Church Square - you can hear the church bells and organ playing. The cottage is gorgeous in its simplicity - the whole structure is heavily beamed, beautifully renovated, cosy and full of character. Remarks: Stairs are steep, and not recommended for the elderly or for small children. Unloading from car permitted outside. Includes parking permit for use in neighbouring streets. Normal charges apply in car parks. There is no garden, but the whole of Rye is at your feet.

Coastguard Cott

Coastguard Cottage is an end terrace, very comfortable and surprisingly spacious original coastguard cottage, dating from 1860, located in Rye Harbour. A fifteen minute walk through the bird sanctuary will take you to the beach and Camber Sands is a ten minute drive away with Rye itself a two minute drive. This area is a haven for walkers, bird watchers and cyclists.
