Little Isemonger Studio is a charmingly converted weatherboarded barn on the outskirts of Tenterden, a delightful market town known as "the Jewel of the Weald". Little Isemonger occupies a commanding site with breathtaking views over the countryside and the Kent & East Sussex Railway line that carries beautifully restored steam engines and historic carriages from the nearby station at Tenterden to Bodiam. Bodiam Castle is a stunningly preserved medieval moated castle on the banks of the River Rother and just one of the many wonderful National Trust properties that can be visited in the area, including Ellen Terry's house and theatre at Smallhythe, Vita Sackville West's gorgeous garden at Sissinghurst Castle and the fairytale gardens at Scotney Castle. Tenterden's wide, tree lined High Street houses a wide choice of bars, restaurants and tea and coffee shops as well as a superb choice of individual and familiar shops. The barn is set in a stunning hillside location in the Black Mountains above a peaceful valley. The barn is within the grounds of the owners house but is completely private with the windows and door looking across the fields and from here there is direct access to a footpath. The lane can get icy in winter, please check first. Crickhowell is only 10 minutes drive away (3 miles) where there are many good restaurants and pubs. Llanbedr village with its local pub is within walking distance of the barn. This house is not suitable for children under the age of 7.

The cottage is situated in a very peaceful valley between Llandovery and Halfway on the western side of the National Park, an ideal location for those wishing particularly to be close to the newly designated Fforest Fawr Geopark, the first in Wales. The Forestry Commission have set up the excellent Crychan Forest Trails that also join up with The Eppynt Way, thus giving 65 km. of walking and mountain bike trails. From the cottage there are walks up into the surrounding hills.

The Romney Marshes are famous for sheep and smuggling. In earlier times both provided income to the locals. The area is perfect for windsurfers, sailors and other water sports enthusiasts. Most of the beaches are sandy and safe for families.

The cottage is on two levels on the ground floor is the bedroom with two single beds, below the bedroom are the three original mineral springs, now well insulted with a normal floor. There is a shower room with a good power shower, handbasin and wc. Up stairs to a spacious living room/kitchen with a fitted kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and a fridge; a dining table and chairs, sofa and chair, and an electric coal effect stove. TV, shared SKY with DVD etc. The views from the cottage over pastoral, over well kept lawns to a duck pond and weeping willow trees and the Original Bath House where the GYM is located. The GYM is very well equipped with a running machine, weights, exercise bike, cross trainer, polarities ball and in a separate private part of the garden is a "HOT TUB" and a wooden cabin dressing room. Visitors using the gym and hot tub do so at their own risk. Remarks: Pets welcome but please be aware the owner has dogs and there are poultry roaming free.

The owners have left a selection of maps and books about the area and as keen walkers have made a folder of local recommended walks for guests to use.
