Broccoli Fiesta (Calabrese) is tasty and nutritious and is ideal for late and summer harvesting. Broccoli can be eaten raw in salads or with dips steamed and eaten as is or served with a sauce. It is one of the richest vegetable sources of calcium iron and magnesium and is very rich in vitamins A and C also.
Sow Mid April to late June thinly in a well prepared seedbed 13mm deep. Transplant when they are large enough to handle about 5 weeks from sowing to well prepared soil in a sunny spot. Allow 38-45cm each way between plants and plant firmly and water in. Harvest approximately 80 days from transplanting subsequent sideshoots can be cut regularly until frosts.

An extremely useful and easy to grow hardy winter vegetable providing lots of tasty purple heads during late winter/early Spring.
Sow in a well prepared seed bed in mid to late spring in drills 1cm deep spaced 30cm apart. When the seedlings have four or five leaves transplant to their final quarters 75 x 75cm apart. They will grow in most soils but must be planted firmly.
Water well until they become established and harvest in late winter/early spring by snapping off the flowering shoots before the flowers open. Don't remove the large leaves as these will protect the next batch of shoots.
