Darwin's Dino Egg Puzzle is part of the Professor Puzzle Great Minds range of unique puzzles. Finished in an antique style to give the puzzle an aged look, it is inspired by the British Naturalist Charles Darwin who who formulated the theory of Evolution and that humans had evolved from apes. Although widely accept now, this was a contraversal notion during the ninteenth century. The aim of the puzzle is to separate the pieces and then rebuild the egg of evolution? Looks easy? Look again! It's like a three dimensionsal jigsaw puzzle, only more challenging. About Charles Darwin 1809 - 1882 IHe studied to be a clergyman but became more interested in natural history. In 1831 he set off in a naval ship (hms Beagle) to study geology, biology and natural history in South America (including the Galapagos Islands). Here he studied animal and plant life and devised his famous theory of natural selection - that all species evolve from other species. This theory is set out in his definitive work, ‘On The Origin of Species’ published in 1859. In 1871 he published a further work, ‘The Descent of Man and Selection in Relation to Sex’. This showed how humans evolved from apes.Although generally accepted now, his theories were very controversial at that time
